Body Composition Analyzer and Printers with Souls.

Today in work I was suprised when I approached my printer.

Just an ordinary printer, you may say. Wrong! Instead of saying "PCL LOAD LETTER" ("what the fuck is PCL Load Letter?"), This printer was speaking to me:

Creepy.

Another thing of interest to me is me. Therefore you have to listen too. Or you could just stop reading. I suppose. I hadn't really thought about it to be honest. I probably should have stopped typing a sentence before I said that...

Anyway, I went to the gym today, and had my BMI (Body Mass Index) and Fat content measured. If I were a delicious snack (which I might be), I would be a cereal bar, with yoghurt inside. Hehehe. Hot creamy yoghurt. Hehe. Hmmm. This snack idea doesn't seem to be turning out as funny as it seemed in my head. Ah well, you can see the results for yourself:

What sort of tasty snack would you be?

Oh, and the printer phenomenon turned out to be Stocky, putting his new found hacking skills to good use. Work paid for him to go on a hacking course! Now he can do all sorts of fun things! Quality!

Hat.

Oh, and check this out. It's quite an amusing article from the New York Times...

mmm, I'd be a cadburys chocolate bar. Nothing fancy, just your run of your mill, highly fattening substance easily available for various prices at my local off licences, always close to hand, open til 3am. well that was in London. Now, dammit, i must walk 1km to my nearest chocolate supplier. I see you need some extra fat. And that you weigh less than me. I did not know of 'impedance' = a material's opposition to the flow of electric current; measured in ohms. I did my BMI, i hit 23.6 - normal range, higher end of normal.

Yawn. i'm tired now. I go bed. Yawn...........

What a useful post for me to read, nutrional & educational all at once!

Sarah, if you were a snack, I'd eat you (hehe), as I LOVE CHOCOLATE! Much more than I should for my gender really...

Also, considering I eat so much sweets, chocolate, and junk food, I really should be fatter! :D

elentári, thanks, it was partly down to your help - I checked out the link you gave me, and gleamed some good info from it!

i would be a cheeseburger with extra pickles and mustard, and some jalapeno peppers, a side of fries, the big thick ones that i call steak fries, and a very cold beer.

BTW, don't worry until your tech devices start acting all superior and sniggering when you walk in a room. When you MP3 player will only play "Fuck You Ryan" is when you really start to worry.

i would hate to that BMI thing. I am 6 foot and weigh 240, but too be fair, though I am on the large side, I am not truly "fat". I played football in school and lifted a lot of weights and have not weighed less than 200 since I was a freshman in high school. Could stand to drop an easy 20 lb. at at the least. Maybe I should be a salad and a white wine instead of a burger and a beer?

Naa man. Although what you eat certainly helps, exercise is the key. A lot of people think that if you lift weights, and then stop, your muscle will turn to fat. This isn't true.
What actually happens is your body gets used to consuming more energy because it was needed for the workouts etc. you would continue to eat around the same amount, but you wouldn't be burning off the food. You body only loses muscle at a rate of something like a quarter of an inch a year.

Starving makes your metabolism go into a kind of hibernation mode, so any food you eat will immediately be stored as the body will not know when the next meal wil be.

Suprisingly, the body burns something like 50 calories a day for every pound of muscle you have. So if you do weights, your body will automatically start using more energy! If you don't start eating more, and eat reasonably, this alone would cause weight loss!

Actually, all the football and weights at a young age trashed my left knee and shoulder, so in college I shifted to cycling, and was riding in excess of 100 miles per week until i got married and had kids. Finally getting the bikes outs again and riding 30 to 50 miles per week again. Amazing how fast a little exercise will make a change. More energy, less weight, no more open, oozing sores, and the halitosis is almost manageable. Can I post about my bicycle adventures on your motorcycle bloggageareaplaceland?
